Edward Cheung

Hello, I am Edward Cheung (Cheung Ho Keung).

I am an artist dedicated to contemporary art creation and watercolor painting, as well as the founder of Blueprint Studio. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Contemporary Visual Culture at National Taiwan University of Arts. I hold a Master of Fine Arts degree and studied art therapy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where I previously taught at the Department of Fine Arts, along with HKU SPACE. In 2026, I published my book, Imagery Blueprint.

Throughout my years of artistic practice, I have been deeply fascinated by the fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolor—it almost seems to have a life of its own. Painting in watercolor feels like an ongoing dialogue between water, light, and shadow.

To me, painting is a way of reconstructing fragments of life and recording the trajectories of time and space. My Blueprint series revolves around dialogues between the individual and the collective, as well as the city and nature. Utilizing various media including watercolor, copper plates, and photography, I have documented my physical experiences and spatio-temporal shifts across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan. Over the years, my work has won accolades including the Gold Award at the National Art Exhibition organized by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and has been exhibited internationally.

It is a true honor to share my accumulated painting insights and creative processes with you through this online course. I look forward to guiding you in discovering your own artistic language amid the flow of ink, water, and brushwork.
